Small and light - a pastry, a prescription, a pot of cream: a counter bag or a small twisted handle bag.
Clothing or soft goods: a deeper gusset and a ribbon or rope handle, laminated or not depending on the look.
Heavy, boxed or bottled: 250gsm board with a rope handle or an external folded handle.
Under a kilo, a 180gsm bag with twisted handles is enough. Two to four kilos needs 200-250gsm and a handle fixed through the top rather than glued to the inside face. Above that, talk to us before ordering.
If someone fills it one-handed at a counter, you want a block bottom. If it is handed over already packed, a flat bag is cheaper and stores better.
