Kraft is the stock, not the shape. The same paper runs as a twisted handle bag on a shop counter, a flat-handled takeaway bag, or a heavier rope-handle bag for a premium line. What changes is the weight of the board and how the handle is fixed.

Brown kraft prints best in one or two colours: the paper is warm and slightly textured, so solid blocks of light colour sit flat on it rather than glowing. If the artwork is photographic, white kraft or a coated board will hold it better, and we will say so when we quote rather than let it print dull.

Weight is chosen around the load. 180gsm suits small retail; 200gsm is the common middle for clothing and gifts; 250gsm is what we reach for when the bag carries bottles, boxes or a full shop.

About this bag

+ Is brown kraft strong enough for heavy items?

At 200-250gsm with a twisted or rope handle, yes. Tell us the weight and whether the bag has to stand open, and the stock is specified around that rather than guessed.

+ Can I print full colour on brown kraft?

You can, but the paper tints everything slightly warm. For photographic work, white kraft or a coated board gives a truer result.

+ Are kraft bags recyclable?

Uncoated kraft goes in kerbside paper recycling. Add a laminate and that changes, so ask for the stock specification on your job.
